This is a poem I wrote for my cousin’s birthday.

Sweet Sixteen

Happy sweet sixteen!

You’ve grown up tall and lean! (sort of)

The time has come for you to bake

The double decker vanilla cake

Made extra sweet with lots of sugar

With extra icing from the cooker!

Loads of presents fill the hall

Perhaps amongst them a giant ball,

On the table as many treats

As the sweet-sixteener should want to eat.

Make a wish and blow out the candles!

Make sure that you don’t burn you’re bangles!

Cut yourself a slab of cake

And laugh until the whole house shakes!
